이 설치 작업은 작업은 2024년 Newtype(ver.2) 비디오 작업에 이어 같은 주제 아래 아크릴에 프린트 된 사진 작업으로, LED 응원봉이 함께 설치되는 깃발 형태의 복합매체 설치로서 AI 초상 사진에서 종종 발견되는 기괴하고, 조직되지 않은 섬유 구조 같은 파편적 이미지들에 집중해보고자 합니다. AI 초상 사진들은 데이터에 대한 비관용성을 반영하기도 하고, 이미지 내에 중심과 주변을 나누는 시각적 불균형을 드러냅니다. 이는 이러한 불균형을 통해 단순히 미적 요소가 아니라 사회적 위계 구조이자 경계로 작동한다는 내러티브를 공간화 시키고, 이러한 공간에서 새로운 가능성을 발견하려는 시도입니다. 나아가 하나의 존재로서 정체성을 부여함으로써 무질서한 이미지 조각들에 집중해 하나의 타자’(l’Autre)로서, 동일성(identit )으로 환원될 수 없는 존재로서 해석합니다.

The installation work presented this time follows her 2024 video piece Newtype (ver.2), expanding on the same theme through a photographic work printed on acrylic. This multi-media installation, shaped like a flag and accompanied by LED light sticks, focuses on the fragmented images often found in AI-generated portraiture — bizarre and unstructured textile-like visual elements. These AI portraits reflect a lack of tolerance toward data variability and reveal a visual imbalance that separates center from periphery within the image. Through this imbalance, the work spatializes a narrative where visual form becomes not merely aesthetic but functions as a social hierarchy and boundary. In this space, the work attempts to uncover new possibilities. Furthermore, by granting a sense of identity to these chaotic image fragments, the artist interprets them as the Other (l’Autre) — as beings that cannot be reduced to sameness (identité).

Die Installation knüpft an ihre Videoarbeit Newtype (ver.2) aus dem Jahr 2024 an und vertieft das gleiche Thema in Form einer auf Acryl gedruckten fotografischen Arbeit. Die multimediale Installation, die in Form einer Flagge erscheint und mit LED-Leuchtstäben kombiniert wird, konzentriert sich auf fragmentierte Bilder, wie sie häufig in von KI generierten Porträts zu finden sind – bizarr wirkende, unorganisierte, textilartige Bildstrukturen.
Solche KI-Porträts spiegeln eine geringe Toleranz gegenüber Datenvielfalt wider und offenbaren ein visuelles Ungleichgewicht, das Zentrum und Peripherie voneinander trennt. Durch diese Unausgewogenheit wird ein Narrativ räumlich erfahrbar gemacht, in dem die visuelle Form nicht nur ästhetisch wirkt, sondern als soziale Hierarchie und Grenze fungiert. Innerhalb dieses Raums sucht die Arbeit nach neuen Möglichkeiten. Indem den chaotischen Bildfragmenten eine Identität verliehen wird, interpretiert die Künstlerin sie als den Anderen (l’Autre) – als eine Existenz, die nicht auf Gleichheit (Identität) reduziert werden kann.

(b.1992) approaches space as a site of sensory and emotional experience, exploring the invisible identities and emotional narratives embedded within it. Through photography and video, she captures fragmented images, marginalized perspectives, and remnants of historical memory. Her work reinterprets the identity of space and its sensory landscapes, reconstructing them through mixed media and installation formats. Her exhibitions include the group exhibitions «We,We,We and We»(2024, Runde Ecke, Leipzig), «Walk on the Carpet» (2024, Gewandhaus, Leipzig), «Orthodox X Orthodox» (2023, Seongbuk Art Center, Seoul), «Digging the Earth» (2023, Sunnybrook Art Center, Leipzig), «In the Middle Line: So that We Can See Each Other» (2021, RASA, Seoul). Her solo exhibitions include «Space, Folded Feeling» (2021, Plast). She is currently studing her diploma in the class 'Installation and Space' under Professor Joachim Blank at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig.

Dayoung Jung (*1992) betrachtet den Raum als einen Ort sinnlicher und emotionaler Erfahrung und erforscht die darin eingebetteten unsichtbaren Identitäten und emotionalen Narrative. Durch Fotografie und Video fängt sie fragmentierte Bilder, marginalisierte Perspektiven und Spuren historischer Erinnerungen ein. Diese transformiert sie in Mixed-Media- und Installationsformate, um die Identität von Räumen und deren sinnliche Landschaften neu zu interpretieren. Zu ihren bedeutenden Ausstellungen gehören die Gruppenausstellungen «We,We,We and We»(2024, Runde Ecke, Leipzig), «Walk on the Carpet» (2024, Gewandhaus, Leipzig), «Orthodox X Orthodox» (2023, Seongbuk Art Center, Seoul), «Digging the Earth» (2023, Sunnybrook Art Center, Leipzig), «In the Middle Line: So that We Can See Each Other» (2021, RASA, Seoul). Ihre Einzelausstellungen umfassen unter anderem «Space, Folded Feeling» (2021, Plast). Derzeit studiert sie in der Klasse Installation und Raum unter der Leitung vom Professor Joachim Blank an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig(HGB).

정다영(b.1992)은 공간을 감각적·정서적 경험의 장소로 바라보며, 그 안에 내재한 비가시적 정체성과 정서적 서사를 탐구합니다. 사진과 비디오를 통해 파편화된 이미지, 주변화된 시선, 역사적 기억의 잔여를 포착하고, 공간의 정체성과 감각적 풍경을 재해석하고 이를 혼합 매체와 설치 형식으로 재구성합니다. 주요 전시로는 그룹전 «We,We,We and We»(2024, Runde Ecke, 라이프치히),«Walk on the Carpet»(2024, Gewandhaus, 라이프치히), «Orthodox X Orthodox»(2023, 성북예술창작터, 서울), «Digging the Earth»(2023, Sunnybrook Art Center, 라이프치히), «중간선상:우리가 서로를 보기 위해서는»(2021, RASA, 서울), 개인전으로는 «Space, Folded Feeling»(2021, Plast, 라이프치히)등이 있습니다. 현재는 라이프치히 미술대학( Hochschule für Grafik Design und Buchkunst)의 Joachim Blank 교수의 클래스 ‘설치와 공간(Installation und Raum)’에서 디플롬을 수료 중입니다.
